are many criteria of classifying rugs: city, village and nomadic,
according to the social background and lifestyle of the weaver; as pile-knotted or
flat-woven, according to the style of weaving; and according to the geographical
location or weaving district of their origin. A simpler way of classifying Oriental rugs
is according to their formats. In this module, we will briefly discuss
some of the most popular ones of these.
