 The
intricacy of the design, the beauty of the motifs and the pattern all add to the value of
an Oriental Rug. Though some asymmetry in a hand-woven design is unavoidable, The overall
design of the rug should be symmetrical to the highest possible degree. This, of
course, doesn't apply to rugs with the allover, portrait and panel design which are based
on asymmetrical designs. For an individual collector, the highly personal reaction to the
aesthetic value of the rugs design should be the final measure of it's design. |
